The Diamond Knot India Pale Ale

Description:
The Diamond Knot India Pale Ale, or IPA for short, is a copper colored, medium bodied ale. It is brewed in the traditional methods of IPA production with "true to style" ingredients.

The IPA features:
  • 2 row Pale Malt
  • Crystal Malt
  • Carapils Malt
  • Munich Malt
  • Galena Bittering Hops
  • Columbus Finishing Hops
  • London Ale Yeast
  • Generously dry hopped with Columbus
Comparison:
There is no real comparison. IPA, which has also become Diamond Knot's Flagship beer, has become a model for Brewers in the Pacific Borthwest.
  • Diamond Knot IPA, "Best Anywhere," Northwest Brew News, Feb/March 1996
  • "The most talked about Brewery at the Great Northwest Microbrew Invitational," Celebrator Beer News, Nov/Dec 1996
Why is it called IPA:
IPA's were produced in England during the late 1700's - early 1800's and shipped around the Horn of Africa to India for the citizens and soldiers colonizing that country. These peolpe were a bold and robust breed who appreciated the hoppier, slightly more alcoholic (at the time) brew that survived the long voyage to their shores.
Today, Diamond Knot's IPA is brewed for the pub-goer who enjoys a big beer with a full taste. The complex 4 malt blend, coupled with the hop varieties, create a "True to Style" flavor that microbrew drinkers have never before seen in this area. We enjoy our India Pale Ale so much, we keep a sample keg at the brewery for our own consumption. We know you'll like it too!
