The first step after extensive planning, was the all-important floor. Not just any floor would do. Brian planned a floor for the wet brew process that would with stand any assault of water and abuse, and still keep the rest of the building safe and dry.

Following Brian's detailed drawing, a grid of rebar was laid inside of a frame for a curb-like border to the wet area.

Drains were built, sump pumps stations prepared, and soon the day of the big pour came to pass (just scroll down a little).

Since a cement truck could not get in the building, the cement was poured into the floor frame with a pumper truck. This also allowed the cement to be spread a lot more accurately than if a truck could have made it into the building.

It took about 12 full cement trucks to pull the floor for the brew room to the thickness necessary to stand up to all of the water and abuse it will face in the future.

That enclosed space on the right side of the third image is for a boiler room.
